Botanical garden works at Vathalmalai pick up pace

Construction of a new botanical garden in Vathalmalai is accelerating, with Phase I nearing completion. Local officials have also inspected nearby tourist facilities and the primary health center to ensure service quality.

The works under way at the botanical garden, set up at a cost of ₹83.56 lakh, in Vathalmalai is being sped up with Phase I works nearing completion. Earlier, Collector V. Saravanan inspected the completed works regarding fencing, ticketing counter, guard’s office, and the sales centre of the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Development Agency.
The botanical garden will be spread over five acres, and a children’s play area, walkers track, ground level reservoir, and borewell are envisioned within the project. The Collector urged the officials to execute the project within the stipulated time and to ensure work quality. He also inspected the tourist facilities at Vathalmalai, including Hotel Tamil Nadu, run by the Tourism Department.
