Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary under strain as vets stop taking in wild birds

Bonorong Wildlife Santuary says its caseload has risen 30 per cent since vets across Tasmania stopped taking in wild birds due to the risk of bird flu.

Bonorong chief executive Matt Clement tells Ryk Goddard on Hobart Breakfast it's a sensible move by vets, but is putting pressure on the sanctuary.

"If you do find a sick or injured bird please do not bring it to Bonorong without calling us first. That is really, really important," he says.
