"Bonagee Link not the 'silver bullet' people think"

A local taxi driver in Letterkenny has expressed skepticism regarding the effectiveness of the proposed Bonagee Link road project. He argues that the project's exit point will likely exacerbate existing traffic bottlenecks in the Ballyraine area rather than solving them.
Why it matters
Infrastructure projects often face local scrutiny regarding their long-term efficacy in solving urban congestion issues.
A Letterkenny taxi driver has voiced his concerns over the ability of the new Bonagee Link resolving one of the town's busiest traffic chokepoints.
Shaun Gallagher, who runs Letterkenny Cabs, believes that the Bonagee Link could make things worse in Ballyraine, which is already a traffic congestion hotspot.
Gallagher, posted a video on Facebook, where he offered a very measured opinion on the new Bonagee Link - which some are heralding as the solution to Letterkenny's persistent traffic problems.
However, Gallagher is sceptical of the project having reviewed the plans, and believes it may create an even bigger bottleneck.
"I don't want to be disingenuous to the people that secured the funding, and planned the project. I just don't think it's going to be the gamechanger that people think due to the fact of where it's coming out.
