Long serving Bolton councillor, Cllr David Chadwick, who was the mayor of Bolton last year, died this morning.

Cllr Chadwick, a hugely respected political figure, was first elected to Bolton Council in 1998 and over the years has served as chief whip, chair of the licensing committee and executive member for highways and transport.

He had also served as Mayor of Westhoughton .
