Body of Jaish terrorist found in Doda, M4 rifle recovered: J&K Police

Jammu & Kashmir police recovered the body of a Jaish-e-Muhammad terrorist and an M4 rifle in the Doda district. Security forces have increased patrols in the Chenab Valley to counter shifting militant tactics in the region.
Why it matters
The recovery highlights ongoing security challenges and the persistence of militant activity in the Jammu region.
The body of a Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terrorist was recovered from the upper reaches of the Chenab Valley’s Doda district, the Jammu & Kashmir Police said on Saturday (September 12, 2026).
A police spokesman said the police Special Operations Group (SOG), the Army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and the CRPF “retrieved the remains of a Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist”.
The police said the terrorist was neutralised earlier in a joint operation. “A night-enabled M4 rifle has also been recovered,” the police said.
