Boda Rider Shot Dead During National Cleaning Day in Ndejje

Police have arrested one of their officers after a boda boda rider was shot dead during a National Cleaning Day exercise at Ndejje Kanaaba in Makindye-Ssabagabo on Saturday morning.
“The Uganda Police Force has registered and commenced investigations into a shooting incident that occurred on 29 August 2026 at around 7:30 a.m. at Ndejje Kanaaba, within Katwe Police Division,” police said in a statement.
Officers from Ndejje Police Station had been deployed to provide security during the community cleaning exercise, with access to part of the area restricted.
Police said preliminary information indicated that the rider attempted to force his way through the secured area while riding his motorcycle.
