Blow whistle against corruption, says Keralam Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala
Keralam Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala launched 'Project Zero,' a Vigilance Commando program in Kozhikode, urging citizens to report corruption. He emphasized the government's zero-tolerance policy and its objective to create a corruption-free and transparent Keralam.
Why it matters
This initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to combating corruption and empowers citizens to participate in ensuring transparent governance, potentially improving public services and trust within the state.
Everyone should be prepared to blow the whistle fearlessly against corruption, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said on Monday (September 28, 2026), asserting that government services were a right of citizens and that people should not have to pay bribes to access them.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Kozhikode range-level launch of ‘Project Zero’, a Vigilance Commando programme aimed at involving young people in the fight against corruption, at the JDT Islam campus at Vellimadukunnu.
Mr. Chennithala said eliminating corruption from society was the government’s objective and that Project Zero was a firm step towards creating a corruption-free and transparent Keralam. The government would adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, he added.
