The zilla panchayat organised voluntary blood donation camps in 23 places across Belagavi district on Thursday, as part of Teachers’ Day celebrations.
Regional Commissioner Janaki K.M. inaugurated the camp at BIMS superspecialty hospital in Belagavi in the morning. She distributed certificates to donors and congratulated them. ZP CEO Rahul Shindhe, SP K. Ramarajan, Deputy Conservator of Forests N.K. Kranti, and other officers were present.
Apart from government officers and staff, students, teachers, self-help group members, farmers, VBGRAMG workers, and persons with disabilities donated blood.
