BLKJ Havas Singapore and Havas NY create gallery experience to help rescue dogs find homes

BLKJ Havas Singapore and Havas NY collaborated on a gallery project that uses behavioral science to showcase the unique personalities of rescue dogs. By observing how dogs interact with art, the project aims to help potential adopters see beyond breed stereotypes and find better matches.
Why it matters
Innovative marketing and behavioral science applications can improve adoption rates for rescue animals by reframing public perception.
The initiative invited rescue dogs from The Sato Project into a curated gallery experience at Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn, where their reactions to different artworks were observed by animal welfare scientist, Dr. Holly Molinaro. Measuring how long they would look at certain pieces, and reactive behaviors like laying down, sniffing or jumping, their responses informed personalized “collections” that reflect each dog’s unique personality, offering potential adopters a deeper understanding beyond appearance, breed, or first impressions.
