In a significant stride toward preserving the Madurai’s rich freedom struggle legacy, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay inaugurated the newly modernised Gandhi Memorial Museum in Madurai.
Restored at an estimated cost of ₹10.25 crore, the historic landmark blends its 17th-century architectural roots with state-of-the-art digital infrastructure.
The comprehensive restoration project—which commenced in October 2022 following initial financial allocations—was designed to captivate younger generations while strictly maintaining the historical sanctity of the structure.
The extensive renovation work focused heavily on reviving the aging heritage architecture without compromising its original integrity.
