India’s month-long tour of New Zealand begins in Christchurch tonight with a sell-out Twenty20 at Hagley Oval.
The tourists arrive without Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya but they still have plenty of star power, including 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
India have won the past five Twenty20 series against the Black Caps, including the most recent one in New Zealand four years ago. Five Twenty20s will be followed by three one-day internationals (ODIs) and a two-match test series, two formats where New Zealand have a better record against India.
