BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran, on Tuesday (July 14, 2026) questioned the efficiency of the Singappen Special Force , as he contended that the harassment of women by TVK functionaries continued. He referred to an incident in Karur district, in which a woman was stalked and harassed reportedly by a TVK functionary.
Referring to claims by her relatives that there was no action even after multiple complaints made to the police, Mr. Nagenthran said such a claim questioned the efficacy of the police force which was operating under the direct control of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.
