BJP seeks Governor’s intervention on fee arrears

The Telangana BJP on Tuesday sought Governor Jishnu Dev Varma’s intervention to ensure the Congress government clears pending fee reimbursement dues of ₹15,000 crore and holds a dedicated discussion on the issue in the Legislative Assembly during the ongoing session.

A delegation led by State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum highlighting what it described as the government’s failure to address a crisis affecting lakhs of students. The party also warned of intensifying its agitation if there was no response from the government.

Speaking to reporters later, Mr. Rao alleged that around 40 lakh students had been affected by fee reimbursement arrears accumulated from both the previous BRS regime and the current Congress government. He said students continued to face uncertainty despite the government recently releasing limited funds for those admitted in the current academic year.
