This highlights ongoing political tensions in Telangana regarding the management of public welfare facilities and allegations of corruption in government contracts.
Telangana BJP SC Morcha levelled serious allegations against the Congress government stating that it has failed miserably in managing Social Welfare (SC) hostels in Telangana and alleged that a ‘mafia’ has been operating the private hostels administration.
At a press conference held at the State party office on Wednesday, president Kanthi Kiran accused the government of failing to rebuild the dilapidated Kachiguda hostel despite bringing to its notice that students are being accommodated in a private building at a high rent. Such private buildings lack proper amenities for the students, he charged.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar and MLC Addanki Dayakar had visited the hostel and had assured construction of a new building at a cost of ₹30 crore but since the last six months not a single penny has been allocated.
