Telangana BJP has intensified its campaign against what it calls the Congress government’s “anti-people policies”, announcing a series of protests in the coming week, including a two-day fast demanding the scrapping of the controversial 22-A land regulations.
State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao said that BJP Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy would lead a two-day protest fast at Dharna Chowk on September 5 and 6, seeking withdrawal of the 22-A provisions. The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will hold a separate protest at the same venue on September 7, demanding the immediate release of pending student fee reimbursement dues.
Addressing party cadres after Girivardhan Reddy assumed charge as president of the BJP’s Medchal-Malkajgiri urban district unit on Sunday, Mr. Rao launched a sharp attack on the Revanth Reddy government, alleging that it was attempting to “brazenly loot” Hyderabad through its policies.
