N. Ravikumar, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC, criticised the State government, alleging discrimination in its recently released list of drought-affected taluks. He stated that only influenced taluks were identified despite the entire State suffering from a severe drought.
Addressing a press conference in Yadgir on Friday, Mr. Ravikumar highlighted that nearly 75% of agricultural land has been impacted by severe drought conditions. He pointed out that not a single taluk in Kalaburagi district was included in the list, while districts such as Raichur, Gadag, Belagavi, Koppal, and several others have faced extensive crop losses. He claimed that the government excluded these areas based on unscientific assessment reports.
