BJP National Executive Member and MLC Somu Veerraju on Monday (August 24, 2026) stated that the onus of exposing the conspiracy of ‘ Love Jihad ‘ now lies on the shoulders of the police department in Andhra Pradesh. This is in the wake of the alleged ‘Love Jihad’ case in the Kakinada city. He insisted on a detailed probe into the case by the central intelligence agencies.
On August 17, the Sarpavaram police in Kakinada district registered a case against 26-year-old Sk. Sadhik Khan under the charges of ‘deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs’, in connection with the suicide pact (August 16) by Assistant Engineer K. Nooka Raju’s family. The police also booked booked cases under various section of BNSS, including abetment to suicide.
