Shangla - Biometric verification and financial assistance payments under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) have been temporarily suspended across Shangla district due to a shortage of mobile SIM cards used for biometric authentication, causing inconvenience to hundreds of beneficiaries.
According to BISP sources, the disruption has affected all BISP facilitation centres in Alpurai, Bisham, Puran, Shahpur, Chakesar, Martung and other parts of the district, where biometric verification is mandatory for the disbursement of financial assistance.

Officials said the mobile SIM cards used in biometric devices have become unavailable, resulting in the temporary suspension of the verification system and, consequently, the payment process for eligible beneficiaries.
