Bipa workers to get salary increase

The Business and Intellectual Property Authority (Bipa) in Namibia has signed a new wage agreement with the Namibia Public Workers’ Union. The deal includes salary adjustments and the introduction of employer-funded medical aid contributions.

The Business and Intellectual Property Authority (Bipa) and the Namibia Public Workers’ Union on Thursday signed a wage agreement for the 2026/27 financial year.
The agreement provides for a salary adjustment effective from 1 April and introduces employer contributions towards employees’ medical aid for the first time.
Bipa says the salary adjustment and medical aid contributions will be implemented on or before 25 August.
Bipa chief executive Ainna Kaundu says the agreement was the result of negotiations between the two parties.
