Staff members of Biligiri Ranganbetta Gram Panchayat from Chamarajanagar district participated in the September-month cleanliness drive of Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan organised by Mangaluru Ramakrishna Mission on Sunday, to gain a first-hand experience in the cleanliness initiative.

Led by Panchayat Development Officer Shashikala, the staff participated directly in the cleanliness activities undertaken in and around Kadri-Mallikatte and interacted with senior volunteers to understand community-based cleanliness, waste management and good practices for maintaining public spaces. They expressed their intention to learn from these experiences and adopt suitable practices in B.R. Hills.

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd., General Manager Mandar Kale, and Ms. Shashikala, flagged off the drive at the Central Library Park. Jnaneshwar Pai Maroor, Principal, Nitte Institute of Professional Education, Gopinath Rao, Ex-Serviceman, senior volunteers K.V. Satyanarayana and Dilraj Alva were present.
