Bihar: Municipal Executive Officer beaten to death, wife accuses LJP (RV) MLA

Executive Officer (EO) of Dalmianagar Municipal Council, Vimal Kumar, was beaten to death in Bihar’s Aurangabad district late on Saturday night (August 1, 2026). The incident took place under Barun Police Station in Aurangabad, whereas Dalmianagar falls under Rohtas district.
He was on his way to Patna from Dehri-on-Sone in Rohtas district when Vimal was attacked in a deserted area. The police have arrested Vimal’s driver Mithilesh Kumar in the case.
After the attack, he was rushed to Narayan Medical College and Hospital in Jamuhar, Rohtas district, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
According to police sources, the driver has admitted his involvement in the murder during interrogation. On August 2, 2026, Magadh Range Inspector General (IG) Vikas Vaibhav also inspected the crime spot and confirmed the arrest of the driver. He added that the driver repeatedly changed his statement during questioning, which deepened the police’s suspicions.
