A group of Bihar Congress leaders has written to party president Mallikarjun Kharge, stating that they would stage a peaceful sit-in outside the party headquarters in New Delhi on September 8, unless the Bihar unit’s national in-charge Krishna Allavaru and State president Rajesh Kumar are removed.
The proposed protest at Indira Bhawan in the national capital comes amid discontent within the Bihar Congress following its poor performance in the 2025 Assembly election, in which the party won six seats, down from 19 in 2020.
In a letter dated August 15, the workers alleged “disorder” in the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) during the Assembly election and accused the party’s in-charge of acting arbitrarily in the distribution of tickets.
