Why it matters
Provides insight into the social dynamics and fan engagement surrounding popular reality television series.
In a huge loss to this highly-successful ITV series of Big Brother, one of the biggest personalities in the house was evicted last Friday night (2 October), despite desperate pleas from fans for a twist to keep both housemates in. Johanne made an instant impression on launch night, and went on to become one of the most talked-about, celebrated, and straight-talking contestants on the show. As a result, many were sad to see her leave Big Brother. Digital Spy caught up with Johanne for an exclusive interview chat following her exit from the show, and of course the subject soon turned to the next eviction – which sees two of her closest friends in the house, Pauline and Rob, now facing the public vote. "It sucks," Johanne said.
