Bharathiar University Teachers’ Association demands time-bound, transparent, and rule-based action on pending issues

The Bharathiar University Teachers’ Association is demanding administrative transparency and rule-based governance from the university registrar. Their concerns include the appointment of an In-Charge Registrar and the timely conduct of career advancement interviews.
Why it matters
This reflects broader issues of administrative efficiency and faculty welfare within India's public higher education institutions.
The Bharathiar University Teachers’ Association has questioned the failure of the Registrar R. Rajavel to designate a senior faculty member as In-Charge Registrar in his absence.
Demanding time-bound, transparent, and rule-based action on all pending issues, the Association, in its general body meeting, called upon the Registrar to strictly adhere to the service rules and regulations of the State government.
It also expressed dismay over the delay in conduct of CAS (Career Advancement Scheme) interviews for all eligible faculty members for promotion to all stages. Timely CAS interview has been specified in the UGC framework, the Association president K. Vasanth said.
