‘Beyond Words’, a five-day exhibition of news photographs, began at the Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery in Kozhikode on Wednesday (August 19, 2026) to mark World Photography Day. Great Bombay Circus artistes Tulsidas Choudhary, Pappu Thakur, and Ajay Naik jointly inaugurated the exhibition.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Choudhary said circus artistes were often excluded from public spaces, and that it was the first time in his life that he had inaugurated an event. Human rights activist A. Vasu was the chief guest.

The exhibition features around 30 photographs by photojournalists from various dailies in Kozhikode, covering themes including the Wayanad landslides, transgender issues, football, and cattle race.
