Benue Govt Strengthens Surveillance Against Diphtheria - Ogwuche

The Benue State Government has strengthened surveillance and preparedness against diphtheria as cases of the disease continue to rise across the country.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Paul Ogwuche, disclosed this while speaking to journalists in Makurdi at the weekend, saying the state had yet to record any case of diphtheria.
He, however, said increased movement of people between Benue and other parts of the country, particularly neighbouring Nasarawa State, had made heightened preparedness necessary.
