Bengaluru traffic hackathon draws 33,600 participants, produces 1,100 AI prototypes

As Bengaluru continues to grapple with congestion and parking-related traffic issues, Flipkart and the Bengaluru Traffic Police have brought together thousands of innovators to develop technology-driven solutions for the city’s urban mobility challenges.
The Gridlock Hackathon 2.0, conducted in collaboration with MapmyIndia, Arcadis and HackerEarth, received 33,600 registrations from students, developers and working professionals across India. Participants used anonymised, real-world Bengaluru traffic data from the Bengaluru Traffic Police’s ASTraM platform to develop more than 1,100 artificial intelligence and machine-learning prototypes.
