The Organised Crime Squad (East) of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) have arrested three persons for allegedly conspiring to murder their rival, a former rowdy-sheeter. The police seized six weapons and an autorickshaw during the operation.
According to the police, based on credible information on August 3 that a group of armed individuals was moving around Jayanagar in vehicles and waiting for an opportunity to attack a person in Bairasandra, a police team raided the place and apprehended three suspects. During the operation, officers recovered six deadly weapons and an autorickshaw allegedly used by the accused.
An initial probe revealed that the prime accused, identified as Lakshminarayana, is a resident within the Siddapura Police Station limits. Portraying himself as a “local don” by claiming links with notorious rowdies, he had formed a gang of local youths, creating fear among residents.
