Bengaluru: Stakeholders’ meeting on Karnataka’s Apartment Bill to be held on July 15
The Karnataka government has scheduled a stakeholders' meeting for July 15 to discuss the proposed Karnataka Apartment (Ownership and Management) Bill, 2025. The bill aims to modernize outdated housing laws and provide clarity on apartment management and ownership.

The Karnataka government has finally called for a meeting with apartment owners to consult them on The Karnataka Apartment (Ownership and Management) Bill, 2025, on Wednesday (July 15).
The apartment owners have been urging the government for the enactment of the Bill to bring more clarity regarding ownership and management of apartments in the State. Currently, there is a lot of ambiguity as apartments are governed by the outdated Karnataka Apartment Ownership Act, 1972, and the Karnataka Cooperative Societies Act, 1959.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar had held the first such meeting on December 13, 2025, as Bengaluru Development Minister and promised a stakeholders’ consultation meeting before the Bill was tabled in the Assembly. However, for over six months, such a meeting never happened. At least two city MLAs had written to Mr. Shivakumar urging him to convene the meeting.
