Bengaluru: Rehab centre owner, two employees booked for assaulting youth
Police in Bengaluru have registered a case against the owner and staff of a private rehabilitation centre following allegations of physical assault on an inmate. The victim's family reported that the inmate was beaten with a PVC pipe after being unable to perform physical exercises.

The Madanayakanahalli police have registered a case against the owner of a private de-addiction and rehabilitation centre and two staff members for allegedly assaulting an inmate at the facility in Machohalli near Madanayakanahalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
According to the complaint filed by his father, the victim, Pavan Kumar, 30, suffering from a chronic addiction, was admitted to the rehabilitation centre on the night of July 29.
The complainant alleged that on the morning of July 30, the owner of the centre, Raju, instructed inmates to perform physical exercises. When Pavan Kumar reportedly informed him that he was unwell and unable to exercise, Raju allegedly assaulted him with a PVC pipe.
