A 25-year-old printing press employee allegedly ended his life at his residence within the Cottonpet Police Station limits on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Anand Kumar, who had reportedly been struggling with severe emotional distress following the death of his younger brother, Kiran, who died by suicide about two months ago.
According to the police, the brothers shared a close bond, and Anand found it difficult to cope with the loss. Family members told the police that he frequently became emotional while remembering his brother and gradually developed symptoms of depression. They also said he had begun consuming alcohol regularly after the tragedy.
In an effort to help him recover, his parents had reportedly taken him to Mantralaya, hoping the visit would aid his emotional well-being. However, his condition did not improve, the police said.
