Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh ordered a departmental inquiry against a sub-inspector in the Renukaswamy murder case, in which Kannada actor Darshan is an accused, for allegedly advising the accused on how to get away with the crime.
Serious allegations have surfaced regarding lapses in the investigation and the alleged fabrication of evidence.
The accused allegedly called him soon after the murder and got advice on how to dispose of the body and destroy the evidence.
Questions have also been raised about the sub-inspector’s alleged role in handling procedures related to Renukaswamy’s body.
According to reports, Mysuru-based social activist and complainant Snehamayi Krishna had approached DG&IGP M.A. Saleem, alleging irregularities in the investigation. Following the complaint, a departmental inquiry was recommended against Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and the sub-inspector.
