Bengaluru: Mayura Hotel at Bal Bhavan to get ₹2-crore upgrade, Government Museum renovation to be completed within six months
The Tourism Minister of Karnataka has announced a ₹2-crore renovation plan for the Mayura Hotel and the Government Museum in Bengaluru. The initiative aims to improve infrastructure and visitor experience at key cultural and tourist sites.

Following a surprise visit to major tourist destinations in Bengaluru on Wednesday (August 19), Tourism Minister K.J. George directed officials to take immediate steps for the comprehensive development and renovation of major tourism and cultural destinations including Bal Bhavan, KSTDC’s Mayura Hotel, Government Museum and Venkatappa Art Gallery. This will be done with the objective of providing a better experience to children, families, and tourists.
“Bal Bhavan and the Bengaluru Government Museum are important public and cultural destinations in Bengaluru. Along with providing children with better facilities and quality food, there is a need to bring our historical heritage closer to the people. I have directed officials to upgrade the Mayura Hotel at a cost of around ₹2 crore and complete the renovation of the Government Museum within six months,” he said.
