Bengaluru accounts for more than 30% of pet journeys on Akasa Air

Bengaluru accounts for more than 30% of all pet journeys on Akasa Air’s network, with over 3,700 pet journeys originating from the city since the airline introduced pet travel on its flights on November 1, 2022.

The airline said pet travel from Bengaluru increased by 53%, from 856 journeys in FY24 to 1,310 journeys in FY26.

It added that five of Akasa Air’s top 10 most frequent pet parents are from Bengaluru.

The Bengaluru-Delhi, Bengaluru-Kolkata and Bengaluru-Guwahati routes are among the most popular pet travel sectors, consistently ranking among the top five routes for pet travel over the last three financial years and accounting for over 55% of pet flights from Bengaluru.
