Bengaluru: 14-year-old boy goes missing from Government Boys’ home

A 14-year-old boy has gone missing from the Government Boys’ Home on Dr. M.H. Marigowda Road, near Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, prompting the Siddapura police to launch a search.
According to a complaint filed by Janakamma, 52, Superintendent of the Government Boys’ Home, the minor went missing around 7.30 p.m. on August 16 while security personnel were on duty.
The complaint states that security staff Naveen and Siddu noticed that the boy had gone near a sink in front of the institution’s kitchen and subsequently found that he had escaped from the premises.
He had been admitted to the institution by the Child Welfare Committee-1, Bengaluru, under provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
The Siddapura police have taken up the case and are making efforts to trace him.
