Chris Affleck, the mother of Oscar-winners Ben and Casey Affleck, has died at age 83.
The family announced in The Boston Globe that she had died on June 2 after being given “six months to live” in December 2025.
“Her greatest wish after her diagnosis, however, was to live to see her grandson graduate high school. She did so, attending with her family on May 31, 2026. She died peacefully, in her sleep, two days later,” her obituary reads.
While the family did not specify her cause of death in the obituary, according to The Hollywood Reporter , Chris had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2025.
Chris was born Christopher Anne Boldt in New York City in December 1942. She graduated from Harvard and worked as a public schoolteacher for 35 years.
