The Scottish FA say they have appointed "one of Europe's brightest emerging coaching talents" by securing Sebastien Pocognoli as Scotland men's new head coach on a two-year deal.

The 39-year-old Belgian, who replaces Steve Clarke, left Monaco at the end of last season and previously led Union Saint-Gilloise to a first league title in 90 years in 2024-25.

He becomes just the second foreign boss of the Scotland men's team, after German Berti Vogts.

"When I first heard of the interest, I was immediately excited about the opportunity," said former Belgium international Pocognoli.

"Scotland's supporters are famous for their passion - most recently at the World Cup in the USA - and I have experienced it myself as a player for Belgium when we played in 2013.
