Belagavi: Jagadish Shettar urges Union government to begin work on ring road

Jagadish Shettar, MP, has urged the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to begin the construction of the Belagavi bypass, which has been taken up by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Mr. Shettar met V. Umashankar, secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and urged him to allow the NHAI officers to invite tenders for the Belagavi bypass Package 1 without waiting for Packages 2 and 3. Mr. Shettar said the delay in the remaining packages was prolonging traffic congestion in Belagavi city and that work on Package 1 should commence independently.
