Belagavi airport to get four-lane road

The district administration in Belagavi has begun land acquisition to widen the road between Sambra Airport and the city into a four-lane highway. The project aims to support increasing traffic and industrial growth in the region.
Why it matters
Infrastructure development is critical for regional economic expansion and improving connectivity for growing industrial hubs.
District administration officials have begun the process of land acquisition for the construction of a four-lane road between Sambra Airport and Belagavi city. The administration has also initiated the process of acquiring additional land for the expansion of Sambra Airport, with a survey currently under way.
“The existing road will be widened into a four-lane road and there is minimal need for land acquisition. We will expedite the land acquisition process. We have around ₹10 crore for the acquisition. Work on the road will begin soon after acquisition,’’ Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan told reporters in Belagavi on Saturday (September 12).
