Survivalist Bear Grylls has defended baptising Russell Brand as the disgraced comedian faces criminal charges over alleged sex offences dating back more than two decades.
Brand pleaded not guilty to three charges of rape, three charges of sexual assault, and one charge of indecent assault earlier this year.
A devout Christian, Grylls baptised Brand in the River Thames less than six months after the allegations of sexual misconduct against him first emerged.
Speaking to Metro , Grylls reiterated that he stands by the decision to baptise his friend.
“I think all our faith changes and evolves, and I’d also say I have many doubts as well. I really struggle with so much of it.
