The BBC has released a first-look image showing Edward Bluemel taking on the iconic role of Hercule Poirot in the upcoming six-part reboot of Agatha Christie's iconic stories.
The image has been released as the series, Hercule , has begun filming in Liverpool, and it shows Bluemel dressed as the character, stood against a grey background.
The series has been described as "an intimate study of Hercule Poirot the man and an epic portrait of Britain between the wars", as it will centre around three of Christie’s early stories, while also introducing Hercule Poirot to future friends and allies and one particular nemesis .
As was previously announced , the show's supporting cast will include Henry Ashton ( A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms ), James D'Arcy ( Oppenheimer ), Calvin Demba ( Supacell ), Phil Dunning ( Smoggie Queens ) and Jack Gleeson ( House of Guinness ).
