Throughout the day I've been asking people who have visited the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition to walk me through the experience.
Two key points seem to come up again and again: The awe and spectacle of standing at the top of the stairs, seeing the full length of the Bayeux Tapestry beneath you for the first time. And the vibrancy of the colours despite the embroidery being 950-odd years old.
Now it's time for me to see it for myself.
