Bavarian delegation meets MP to explore Karnataka-Bavaria cooperation

A delegation from the Bavarian State Parliament, facilitated by the State of Bavaria India Office, met Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar in Mysuru on Sunday to explore opportunities for cooperation between Karnataka/Mysuru and Bavaria in sustainability, water management, agriculture and heritage conservation.

The discussions focused on climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, resource efficiency, the circular economy, academic collaboration and the green economy.

The delegation and Mr. Yaduveer exchanged views on common challenges, including drought, declining precipitation, water stress, wildfires, rapid urbanisation and pressure on infrastructure. They discussed the scope for sharing knowledge, technology and best practices in water management, waste and wastewater management, renewable energy and climate adaptation.

Sustainable agriculture was another key area of discussion, with an emphasis on resource-efficient farming, technological innovation, automation and improving productivity amid changing climatic conditions. The importance of food quality and nutrition, alongside food security, was also highlighted, according to a press release.
