Even after completing more than a week in cinemas, the Partition-era drama has failed to generate sustained momentum, raising concerns over its eventual box office verdict.According to Sacnilk, ‘Batwara 1947’ opened with Rs. 5.75 crore on Friday before witnessing a major surge on Saturday. The film collected Rs. 13.50 crore on the second day, but the strong momentum could not be sustained. Sunday saw the collections drop to Rs. 7.25 crore, around 22 percent lower than Saturday.The decline became more pronounced during the weekdays. On Monday, ‘Batwara 1947’ earned Rs. 2 crore, followed by a marginal recovery on Tuesday. The film collected Rs. 2.25 crore on Tuesday, registering a 12.5 percent increase over Monday.
