Battle between Boxing Federation of India chief and general secretary intensifies

The Boxing Federation of India is facing internal turmoil as President Ajay Singh has suspended Secretary General Pramod Kumar. This move follows Kumar's attempt to initiate a no-confidence motion against Singh, citing allegations of financial misconduct and dictatorial leadership.
Why it matters
The leadership crisis threatens the stability and governance of a major national sports body, potentially impacting the administration of boxing in India.
In a retaliatory move, Boxing Federation of India (BFI) president Ajay Singh has suspended secretary general Pramod Kumar, who earlier moved a no-confidence motion against the federation chief, on various grounds.
In a letter issued on Tuesday, Ajay said several enquiries are pending against Pramod, who was earlier served a show-cause notice, “with respect to various acts and financial decisions taken by him.”
“Apart from the lack of cooperation, attempts have been made to destabilise the organisation by issuing directions and notices without authority, intimidate and malign senior officials of the BFI and circulate unsubstantiated allegations across the media,” said the letter.
Ajay barred Pramod from exercising all powers and relieved him from all BFI panels.
