Basavaraj Gadgay elected IETE national vice-president
Basavaraj Gadgay has been elected unopposed as the national vice-president of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE). Additionally, Shubangi D.C. has become the first woman from the Kalyana Karnataka region to be elected to the IETE Governing Council.

Basavaraj Gadgay, former director of the Kalaburagi Regional Centre of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), has been elected unopposed as the national vice-president of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), one of India’s premier professional bodies in the fields of electronics, telecommunications and information technology.
IETE president D.C. Pandey announced the election of the new office-bearers and members of the Governing Council at the 69th annual convention of the IETE held in Kolkata on September 26.
The election also brought another distinction to the Kalyana Karnataka region, with Shubangi D.C., regional director of the VTU Regional Centre in Kalaburagi, being elected to the IETE general council. She is the first woman from the Kalyana Karnataka region to be elected to the Governing Council of the IETE, according to the report.
