The Barke police on Friday arrested three Nepali men from Boloor, alleged to be members of a notorious gang of international burglars, on charges of housebreaking and theft, and recovered stolen valuables worth over ₹10 lakh, including valuables worth ₹8.57 lakh stolen from a house in Mangaluru on July 11.
The police identified the accused as Tilak Kumar Khadka, 36; Ashok Raj, 33; and Dipender Rasaili, 25, all residents of different parts of Nepal.
Police said that a family in Matadakani near Urwa Market, which had gone to a relative’s house in Bantwal on July 11, found the rear door of its house broken open and discovered that 64 grams of gold ornaments and ₹25,000 in cash, together worth ₹8.57 lakh, were missing. The Barke police registered a case under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (housebreaking and aggravated theft).
