Barcelona president wants to sign Premier League star to reinforce the defence

FC Barcelona is reportedly targeting Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro to strengthen their defensive line during the January transfer window. Despite a high valuation by Tottenham, the club is exploring options to address their current lack of defensive depth.
Why it matters
High-profile transfers in European football significantly impact team performance and the financial landscape of the sport.
Barcelona are staring at an important January transfer window ahead, where the club must secure reinforcements in the defensive unit.
The recent injuries to Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Xavi Espart and Andreas Christensen have laid bare the club's lack of depth in the area. As such, Barcelona are expected to enter the market for a new defender.
The club have already been linked with a move for Stuttgart centre-back Finn Jeltsch , while signing a new fullback cannot be ruled out either.
As reported by SPORT , Barcelona president Joan Laporta already has a desired reinforcement in mind, in the form of Pedro Porro.
