Bantwal Railway Station is set to be inaugurated on July 17 following a major redevelopment project under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The project, which cost over ₹26 crore, focused on modernizing passenger facilities, improving aesthetics, and optimizing station traffic flow.

Bantwal Ralway Station is to be inaugurated on July 17 following comprehensive redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the station, along with 74 others across the country, through video conferencing, according to South Western Railway (SWR). Work on the redevelopment project started in September 2023 after Mr. Modi laid the foundation stone a month earlier through video conferencing.
Though the work, estimated to cost ₹26.18 crore, was brought under the PM GATI Shakti Scheme for speedy execution, it picked up pace only in February 2025 after The Hindu wrote about the delay in January 2025.
