Following a tip-off, the police officials conducted a vehicle check in the Kasipalayam area in the district. During the vehicle check, police intercepted a car and seized approximately 283.48 kg of banned tobacco products kept inside several sacks. The police seized the vehicle and the banned tobacco products.
A case had been registered and investigation is underway.
